In August, following SQA results, we will welcome placement requests from schools for suitable candidates.
The Hub not only delivers Advanced Higher level qualifications but offers the added value of experiencing key aspects of university student life, providing an immersive transition experience to Higher Education. All pupils who enrol become Associate Students of GCU, receiving full access to all online learning resources on the University platform, a student card, support from a dedicated team of teachers who are here to help them succeed, and academic preparedness for university including development of digital learning skills.
We offer pupils a blended learning approach to studying with us throughout their Advanced Higher qualifications. As part of S6, pupils have the option to study a college course or a Foundation Apprenticeship. Mr McFarlane has presented to all pupils in S5 to let them know about the fantastic opportunities that are available. These presentations are below and include the link to making an application.

On the last 2 days of the final evidence gathering week, pupils will come into school to complete their Level 6 Leadership Award. This is to give pupils to complete the 2 units, before focusing on their other qualifications.
We will split the year into two groups to allow more contact time with teachers.
6A 6B 6C 6D should come into school for their Leadership Award classes on Thursday the 10th of February
6E 6F 6G should come into school for their Leadership Award classes on Friday the 11th of February
When pupils are not involved in the Leadership Award they can stay at home to complete college applications or to upload and complete sections of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. On the day they are not involved they can also come into school for independent study if they wish.
