I studied clarinet & piano in England before moving to Glasgow to study at the RSAMD with Lawrence Gill (Scottish Opera) & Josef Pacewicz (RSNO).

For 18 years I was a clarinet player with the Highland Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland where I was fortunate enough to travel extensively playing concerts & functions, such as the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo, and a variety of Royal engagements.

I have a particular interest in Chamber Music and won the RSAMD Governors’ Recital Prize for Chamber Music with my Wind Quintet, & was highly commended with my Clarinet Quartet in my final year. I am currently a member of the Ceòl Clarinet Quartet as well as undertaking other freelance commitments.

Outwith teaching & playing I have a keen interest in sport & fitness, am an avid rugby supporter & enjoy nature & reading.
