Trad Ensemble

Trad Ensemble is for young instrumentalists who want to perform in a traditional and folk ensemble.

Who it’s for

Trad Ensemble is for pupils who play:

• chanter or pipes
• whistle
• accordion
• fiddle
• guitar
• harp or clarsach
• accompaniment instruments including piano, guitar and percussion

Entry is by teacher recommendation.

What happens

Pupils rehearse together as a traditional and folk ensemble, developing confidence, ensemble skills and performance experience in this style of music.

Venue: City Halls, 101 Albion Street, Glasgow, G1 1LH.

How progression works

Trad Ensemble is a specialist opportunity for young musicians who are ready to develop ensemble playing in traditional and folk music, usually through teacher recommendation.
