We are delighted to launch this year’s Citywide Singing Project for all Glasgow Primary and Primary ASN schools. Please feel free to access the resources or share the information below with colleagues.
Following the success of It’s Our Home, Glasgow, this year’s song is “Alive” by Skipinnish — a joyful, uplifting anthem celebrating resilience, joy and connection. Permission has kindly been granted by songwriter Angus MacPhail, who has also provided a Gaelic translation of the chorus (Sèist).
Schools can access a full set of free, accessible teaching resources for Early-Second Level, created by CREATE YMI Tutors. This includes teaching videos, a lyric sheet, backing and guide tracks, Makaton chorus and Gaelic Sèist (chorus) learning videos.
🎵 All resources are available now at www.glasgowcreate.online/alive.
🎥 Participating schools are invited to submit a filmed class performance to be included in a citywide video montage, celebrating the voices of pupils across Glasgow.
How to take part:
- Learn your section(s) using the provided resources
- Film your class singing to the backing track provided
- Upload the video to Glow OneDrive and share with gw16oneillmartin@glow.ea.glasgow.sch.uk
⭐ Deadline for submissions:Thursday 2nd April 2026
We hope you’ll join us in this exciting citywide celebration of singing and Scottish culture!
