As we are now in a school year, all year groups have been set work as they begin their new subjects. Eastwood will be updating you weekly with a very brief overview of the online learning that has been set. More details will be contained within google classroom and pupils should engage with their classroom teachers if they require more support.

Parentsportal.scot will provide access to a suite of online services, initially including information about:
- a child’s education such as the school calendar and events
- access to your secondary child’s timetable
- access to your child’s attendance
- completion of the annual data check online.
It will allow you to update your own details as well as your linked child’s details at any time.
Further developments are planned for parentsportal.scot such as absence reporting and links to parents night booking systems.
On signing up to parentsportal.scot you’ll be able to link to your child and gain access to the services which are currently available. In order to link to your child the data you provide during the sign up process must match the data that your child’s school holds.

Congratulations to Lucy Hemmingsley and Hyyan Bashir S6, who competed in the Donald Dewar Law Society Debate, first round, last night. The motion was ‘This House believes that Google does more harm than good’. Opposing the motion, the Eastwood Team made it through to the next round.
Following the tragic news last week a number of pupils understandably continue to be upset. We are aware that many parents are talking to their children about bereavement and loss at home. Please find some documents linked below provided by our Educational Psychologists that may be of some assistance in these discussions.
