Parent Council

Welcome to Eastwood High School Parent Council Page.

The Eastwood High School Parent Council represents the views of parents and carers of pupils at Eastwood High School and works in partnership with the school to support our young people and the wider school community.

Every parent and carer of a pupil at Eastwood High School is part of the Parent Forum. The Parent Council is a group of parents and carers who represent the wider Parent Forum and provide a link between families and the school.

Our role is to:

represent the views of parents and carers;
support the school in its work with pupils and families;
provide an opportunity for parents and carers to contribute to discussions about the life and work of the school;
promote positive communication and relationships between the school, families, pupils and the wider community; and
keep parents and carers informed about the work of the Parent Council.

We aim to provide a constructive forum where ideas, views and issues of wider interest to the school community can be discussed.

Our meetings

The Parent Council meets regularly throughout the school year. Meetings take place at 7.00pm in Eastwood High School and are attended by members of the Parent Council, local councillors, the Head Teacher and other members of staff. Meetings provide an opportunity to hear updates from the Head Teacher, discuss matters affecting the school community and consider issues or ideas raised by parents and carers.

Communication

We want parents and carers to know what the Parent Council is discussing and what is happening across the school community. We will provide regular Parent Council updates in the school newsletter and will occasionally share information via emails sent out by the school. Minutes from Parent Council meetings will also continue to be available on this page.

Please note that the Parent Council represents parents and carers on matters of general or wider interest to the school community. Questions or concerns relating specifically to an individual pupil should normally be raised directly with the school through the appropriate school contact.
