Stars Activities 6

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well and keeping busy despite the poorer weather. The sun is shining today. Long may that continue. 🌞🌈

This week is diggidabble week so we thought it might be good to do some activities involving technology. 💻📸

COLOUR TREASURE HUNT

Borrow a camera, phone or tablet and look around the house and garden for things that are red, blue, yellow, green, purple, orange, pink or black. Take a photograph of what you find. Mrs Chisholm and Mrs Westerman found these coloured things in their homes.

Photograph items beginning with the sounds   s   t   a   r   s   c   l   a   s   s

Mrs Logan and Mrs Gardner collected these things in their homes.

TAKE A SELFIE

Can you fit more than one person into your selfie? How many have you photographed? Can you decorate your selfie with a filter like Mrs Westerman has done?

Can you think of any other digital things you use around the house? Here are some examples. Can you think of any others?

Try and sing/sign along with this song.

If you choose to do any of these activities then maybe you could send a photo or write a comment. We’d love to hear from you.

Have Fun! Stay Safe!  ❤☺

FAOL – Whole School Projects/Citizenship – School Christmas Concert

The Stars Class rehearsed hard to learn our dance for the school Christmas concert. As angels we danced to Michael Buble’s ‘Save the Last Dance for me’ to critical acclaim from the ‘Lights, Camel, Action’ judges. We enjoyed learning and performing our dance.

Fantastic Fun Day

The Stars class had a fantastic time at the Friends of Willowbank Fun Day. Thanks to the Brass and Granite who gifted picnic boxes which we enjoyed at snack time. They were very tasty indeed. We met beautiful therapy ponies, had fun activities in the hall and petted gorgeous guinea pigs, rabbits, very noisy ducks and a tortoise. We had a very happy day.

Earth Day

The Stars class recycled batteries at Tesco’s and were ‘energy detectives’ where we checked that empty classes had remembered to turn off their lights, taps and computers. We built a dark den and read a book by torchlight. Snack time was held in the dark too. This showed us the importance of conserving energy and how difficult it would be without electricity.

World Book Week

The Stars class enjoyed various World Book Week activities. We created bunting, dressed up and had a parade, brought in our favourite books to share, had a book swap, treasure hunt, enjoyed an author visit and read books on video, e-book and at the Dick Institute. We all enjoyed the experiences very much. However, let’s not forget, we made pancakes on Shrove Tuesday too!
