IDL – Glasgow Gruffalo Interactive Game

Confident Individuals  Successful Learners

The Snowdrops have been enjoying the Glasgow Gruffalo story and have enjoyed looking at and talking about the different animals in the story. We played an online game and the Snowdrops were very confident at choosing the correct animal to match the word.  Some of the Snowdrops actively participated in matching the animals to their correct shadow shape. Well done, Snowdrops!

Oak Highlights

This week in the Oak class we have been confident individuals and successful learners in all hard work tasks set across the curriculum.

Everyone has returned to school and completed the first full week back with a motivated frame of mind. We have had many great personal achievements this week, a great start to 2022! Keep this up team Oak!

Everyday before lunch we take part in some active movement, this is us showing our flexibility during yoga, using our foot as a telephone. Then we all enjoy a relaxing meditation story before lunch comes.

We worked hard during numeracy work, theme was sorting and ordering coins, months, days, seasons and special seasonal events.

Independence and confidence during cooking lessons is improving well. This week group 1 enjoyed making toast and scrambled egg. Everyone really enjoyed it despite the pepper lid falling off and falling into the mixture.

We used brushes and toy car wheels to create colourful tartan designs. We used our designs to make paper kilts.

Water Wheel

We looked at a video of a ship on the River Clyde which is called the PS Waverley. It is a paddle steamer. We made our own water wheel to show how water can make things move.

FAOL – ECO/Sustainable Development

*Responsible Citizens* *Successful Learners*

The Sungazers have been really busy this week and we took some time to learn more about how we recycle. As well as recycling in class, we had a look at how we recycle in the school and the wider community. We had a go at sorting our recycling into paper/cardboard, plastic & cans, and mixed glass. We are doing our part to help the school be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible.

Thistle Street – Agnes Auld Roleplay

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *

The Daisies class enjoyed role playing one of the characters from Thistle Street. Agnes Auld is the street’s cleaner so we used our feather duster to dust the class furniture and used our friend Henry to do some hoovering.

50 Things – Wheels

What a sunny day we had to complete our 50 Things outdoor activity. Using a variety of bikes and scooters, we made good attempts to make our wheels turn at speed, using control to go in different directions. Great job, Asteroids!
