Counting in the Garden

We changed things up a bit in the Transition class this week for Numeracy by planting some seeds to grow different vegetables. All the boys were Confident Individuals when asked to count out a certain amount of seeds to plant in the pots. The boys did an excellent job and all cant wait to taste the freshly frown vegetables later in the year.

Fab Friendships

Every day in the Oak class the boys always manage to do or say something that makes everyone smile.  Today they were responsible citizens whilst they had fun exploring at the Kay Park.

The Oak boys all have such a fantastic friendship group and care for one another within their class.  This was evident today on their outing.

Snowdrops fly over to Italy

The Snowdrops have all been successfully learning about Italy and making effective contributions to all our art work, songs and drama activities.  We thought you would like to see our theme wall in class which shows all our hard work to date.  We also use large pictures on boards to sing song and make personal choices about things we would see or eat if we went to Italy.

Focused Area of Learning – Big Pedal 2019 – Fitbit Step Challenge

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Moonbeams class loved this week’s Big Pedal celebrations. We have had turns wearing the class fitbit watch each week and have tried exceptionally hard to up our steps each day. We have managed to increase them every day which we are really proud of.

We also visited Dumfries House on our social outing and scooted from the car park to the big house. We had a scooter race with Tyler being the overall winner!

To finish the week, we also enjoyed a big pedal themed assault course in the PE hall. We took turns wearing the fitbit to complete the course and also timed to see the overall winner! Matthew was our assault course winner!

Odd Sock Day!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *

The Moonbeams class enjoyed celebrating Word Down Syndrome day by wearing our odd socks! We also went on an odd sock hunt around the school. We managed to find 28 socks and had to put them into pairs.

We also looked at a visual story about a girl Daisy who had down syndrome. We found out about Daisy having an extra chromosome and made a paper chain showing this, which we all enjoyed.
