The Bluebells have had a fantastic day at Kidz Play and Prestwick Beach. They were a credit to Willowbank School as they behaved responsibly all day!

Super Stars!
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *
The Moonbeams loved yesterday’s prizegiving celebrations where we got to celebrate our successes and achievements throughout this year. We were delighted with our awards with a special mention going to Alysse for receiving the Gilmour Award. We also loved our Friends of Willowbank hats.
Bounce Bounce Bounce
Time to bounce, have fun and take part in fantastic exercise.
Everyone has been very confident individuals during our rebound therapy sessions. The skills being worked on is endless whilst having fun on the trampoline. It never fails to amaze me the interaction, eye contact and listening skills that the pupils get a chance to develop through these opportunities to bounce. Also the smiles that are given when taking part in rebound therapy sessions are priceless.
Jack has impressed me greatly, he can get himself on and off the trampoline with every little support. Also very comfortable bouncing with both feet off the trampoline whilst supported by an adult. He can independently stand on the trampoline and maintain his balance whilst the trampoline is bounced gently.
Rouken Glen
Well the end of the year is almost here, the Oak gang celebrated our year by spending the day at Rouken Glen. It had been miserable weather all week so we went prepared with wellies and waterproofs, however the weather turned and it was a beautiful day for us!
This has been a busy fantastic year with the Oak gang full of fun challenges and the boys really are all great friends to one another! There is one thing for sure these boys are always guaranteed to make you smile!
Our day out was perfect and the photos do not do the day justice to how good it was! Everyone was very responsible citizens and extremely well behaved!
We enjoyed a walk around the grounds to see the waterfall and then through the woods. Great fun was had at the swing park and then a BBQ on the grass for lunch.
Our topic this term was learning about life in Australia, the Great Outdoors! So we had our Scottish experience with our wellies on and a BBQ, thankfully the umbrella was needed when cooking lunch!
Oak Gang, well done and thank you for a memorable, great year!
Bird Feeders
Today the Daisies were responsible citizens and used our fine motor skills to make bird feeders using cheerios and pipe cleaners.
We worked to carefully thread the cheerios onto each pipe cleaner then explored the sensory garden to find a place to hang them.
30 Days Wild – Bird Feeding
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *
The Moonbeams class had to make bird food as part of today’s challenge. We used apples and seeds and made small bowls for the birds.
Stars Superstars
Good News! The Stars class all did tremendously well at prizegiving. We all got best work certificates and fantastic Willowbank baseball hats from Friends of Willowbank.
Funny Faces!
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *
The Moonbeams class enjoyed today’s 30 Days Wild challenge where they had to gather a range of outdoor materials and make funny faces. They loved this task and had lots of fun!
30 Days Wild – continued!
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *
The Moonbeams class loved today’s 30 Days wild challenges. They had to work in teams and use an iPad to find blue items outdoors. They had to find as many as they could and they all took this task very seriously snapping blue cars on the way past as well as zooming in on blue logos on the nearby bus etc!
We also had to pick flowers and then use the internet to help us find the same. Today we found buttercups, daisies, dandelions and marigolds.
Finally, we enjoyed an outdoor wild themed story where we were enjoyed reading a Wildlife Trust magazine that Ewan had brought into school.
Rebound with the Moonbeams FAOL
Hi, can I just apologise for the lack of pictures this time? I have been in Class covering and we are so hands on its really hard to get the pictures. The Moonbeams are at the end of the day when the film is full and won’t take any more. I’ll do my best to blog some soon if possible.
I just wanted to tell you how marvellous it has been working with the Moonbeams and the staff. We have over the years worked on different skills. We keep working to perfect those skills but on top of that the pupils have been very creative in selecting their own order of sequence to perform; how many jumps they like to do of each skill; what kind off rhythm is used in between skills; while staying at the same time focused on a safe performance as much as possible. I am so proud of them all, and thank all staff for making this possible with me.
