As part of digidabble week. The Transition boys were allowed to choose a literacy game on the touch screen. The boys chose ‘Hang Mouse’ a word guessing game. The boys did their hardest not to be caught by the cat! The boys were all Successful Learners when they chose letters to fill in the missing word.

National Digital Learning Week
The Stars class have explored numerous digital activities this week. We enjoy using digital technology to learn and communicate.
National Numeracy Day
Today our numeracy group explored the ‘sock box’. We counted, matched patterns, compared colours and size, had a treasure hunt and felt different textures. We all had a happy session.
Planting in the Garden
The Stars class were busy this week planting potatoes and onions. We must keep them well watered to grow. This week’s outing group visited Pets at Home where we saw clown fish just like those that live on the Great Barrier Reef.
Green Fingers in the Garden
As a continuation of last week, the boys in Transition decided they wanted to do their maths outside. So, the superheroes took to the sensory garden and worked with they tyres adding and subtracting making piles of 5 and 10. They were all Successful Learners during the lesson and even managed to get The Hulk to calm down by doing a little bit of gardening.
Counting is fun
The Transition boys numeracy lesson was outside this week where they had to find different ways to count to ten. First they looked around the gardens and collected ten pinecones, they then split then into two groups so the total was ten. The boys discovered that there were many ways to make a total of ten. They showed that they where all Confident Individuals and Successful Learners
Fun With Maths
The Transition boys were Effective Contributors by identifying correct value sequence for their coins. Later in the week the boys discovered the mass of sugar in popular drinks and then weighed out the sugar into bags for a wall display. Some soft drinks have a lot of sugar in them! All the Boys were Successful Learners.
Mexican Music
We have been having lots of fun exploring Mexico through our new theme. Today we listened to mariachi music, and played along with our own instruments.
We were effective contributors through playing along with our own instruments and were successful learners as we explored two new instruments- Guitars and Drums!
Earth Day
The Stars class recycled batteries at Tesco’s and were ‘energy detectives’ where we checked that empty classes had remembered to turn off their lights, taps and computers. We built a dark den and read a book by torchlight. Snack time was held in the dark too. This showed us the importance of conserving energy and how difficult it would be without electricity.
Diary Time
The Transition boys were Successful Learners when they added new pages to their diaries. The boys wrote about activities they took part in over the Easter Holidays. Each boy had an interesting tale to tell!
