FAOL – Enterprise, Italian Ice Cream Parlour

The Snowdrops created an ice cream parlour in class this week.  We invited our friends from the Moonbeams to come and have an ice cream sundae at our Italian parlour.   All the snowdrops were very confident individuals and enjoyed being with their older peers from the Moonbeams.  Everyone made effective contributions helping to serve our ice cream with sprinkles, sauce, wafers or biscuits.  The Snowdrops and Moonbeams also shared Italian theme work, songs and words – sharing their successful learning.  It was such a fun afternoon.  Well done Snowdrops and Moonbeams!

National Numeracy Day

Today is National Numeracy Day so instead of doing literacy steaming this afternoon we did numeracy tasks with our groups. We were successful learners and effective contributors throughout the afternoon. We signed the numbers to ten. We all tried really hard despite the hand shapes being rather tricky. We then completed numeracy rotations we had to find numbers on the tuft tray and used a paintbrush to make them disappear. We had to count the number of flowers and then had to build a tower with the same number of blocks.

Active Number Songs

Our streaming groups all enjoyed fun, active numeracy work today.  In the Snowdrops room, everyone made effective contributions to different number songs.  We used Makaton signs and lots of actions to count up or down, with our frogs, ducks and monkeys.  Great work everyone!
