We used paper plates and paints to create snake plates. Watch this space to see how are going to use them.
The Oak class have been extremely busy in the art room. The boys recreated the famous ‘Berwick upon Tweed’ painting by LS Lowry. They used recycled paper and card and decided to go with a bright colours theme.
We discussed perspective and the clever use of horizon lines in paintings. We also talked about how simplistic yet effective the stick people figures are in the foreground. Super successful learners today.

The Sungazers are finding more about various types of pets. The boys investigated the art room resources and found some lovely tactile, sensory materials which were used to make these fabulous pictures.
Lots of excellent fine motor skills and independent work from these confident individuals! Wonderful!
The Oak class have been investigating houses and homes. We had lots of fun discussing the type of house that SpongeBob Square Pants lives in and we decided it is very different from where we live!

We led assembly this week which was on the theme of friendship. We told the story of ‘Rainbow Fish’ then showed everyone all the friendship activities and art work we’d done. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
We have started to compile an ‘All About Me’ booklet as part of our new theme, Nanny McPhee.
This week we have been very busy.
We have settled back into school and are beginning our new theme ‘Homes and Families’. We have explored the story ‘A Squash and A Squeeze’ and enjoyed making the different characters to create a display.
Everyone also worked hard in Music this week and used percussion instruments to make loud and soft, and slow and fast sounds. We self assessed our work using ‘happy’ and ‘sad’ faces.
This boys and girls in the Pine class have been learning about owls. Today the children worked together to create an owl habitat, using recycled materials and natural resources. The model will be used during literacy and role play.
Excellent work from these successful learners and effective contributors.
The Stars Class have been getting to know each other by talking about friendship and doing activities together. We made a birthday board based on ‘The Greatest Showman’ and compiled a Class Charter. In the Garden we harvested carrots and courgettes we’d grown and made a tasty stir fry at H.E.
The pupils in the Pine class worked together to create a super wall display for the art room. the boys and girls used lots of sensory materials to make kind feet, kind hands and a kind mouth!
We also enjoyed some sensory activities: angel fingers, massage balls and relaxing music. What a lovely afternoon!
