Remember our food experiments – the Celery and Spring Onion were the only ones that worked.
In our SQA Baking Unit we are exploring ingredients, this week we looked at different sugars, smelling them and touching them.
We carried out a few different Art activities for Remembrance Day, putting paint on a balloon and pressing it into the paper to create a lovely poppy.
Amazing!!!
Then we made different poppies by spraying water on paper and adding pieces of tissue paper, when it was dry it was painted with PVA Glue and cut into a bowl shape.
We also made our own poppy badges.
Literacy – letter recognition – finding the first letter of our names.
Our Vice Eco Captain made sure that we use up all our left overs, so we made some Autumn leaf pictures with the tissue paper from the poppies.
Looking good.
The Transition class were Successful Learners when they worked with pictograms. They made a pictogram to show different eye colours in the class and the number of people with each colour. They then spent some time understanding a made pictogram about screen time. Some pupil matched numbers from the key, some totaled each bar and others answered short questions to provide conclusions.
We have been busy in the Sunflowers this week! Lot’s of art fun.
When we were in the garden we investigated bubbles. We enjoyed chasing them and blowing them by ourselves! It was great fun.
We also learned about Remembrance Day. We found out about what it was and why we do it. We then made our own poppies that we took home and some stayed in class, so everyone in school could see our wonderful work.
We started some Christmas art and managed to finish one of our snowmen. We called him Scotty the Snowman!
Our other snowman has had his first bit of paint on him and we will hopefully finish him next week!
Have a great weekend everyone.
This week we explored poppies and made lots of different poppy pictures with different collage materials.
We also had fun in the garden on a Remembrance hunt looking for different pictures that were hidden. We marked them off to see if we had found them all.
We were exceptionally responsible citizens this week as we all took part in a 1 minute silence on the 11th of November to pay our respects to the men and women who lost their lives in the war.
