Today the Transition boys listened to a story called ‘Jump!’ for the start of their LGBT topic. They were Effective Contributors when answering questions afterwards.

A new display
The Pine Class are being creative and making a beautiful new wall display – more to be done but so far it looks great!!! Apart from the mess after Art!!

Out and about
Transition boys were Responsible Citizens when they went out in the community to visit a café and then returned back to school on a public bus. They put their passes on the machine successfully and collected their ticket.

Birthday Fun!!
We had a lovely wee birthday party for Jessica this week, we all enjoyed the cake – yummy!!

FAOL – Outdoor Learning
The Stars class made bird feeders to feed to hungry birds in our sensory garden during the cold weather. We mixed together lard and bird seed then filled yogurt pots we’d saved from snack time. The pots were tied up high around the garden for the birds to access.

Oak Outing
This week in class we did some café role play during our maths work. We shared the menu with a friend and chose something to eat and drink. We then had to look at the price and hand over the correct coins. We also worked on our communication skills and had a practice of using our words supported with signs to make our order.
It was a lovely sunny fresh morning to walk to the Coffee Trader and each boy was confident individuals and successful learners at placing their order and choosing the correct coins.
This week we have been working hard on signing our Scottish poem ‘Cuddle Doon’. They were all very successful and listening and following the signs.

Moonbeams Class Assembly

The Moonbeams class led today’s Robert Burns assembly. We re-enacted our own version of Tam O’Shanter where we all took on a role. We also showcased our great Scots to the audience and used makaton signs when doing the Selkirk Grace.

Scottish Snowdrops
The Snowdrops have all been successful learners, exploring the alphabet in a fun Scottish way. We have been creating our own tartans and choosing ways to match colours together. Everyone has also explored different colours and textures to decorate the initial capital of our names in a Scottish way.
