The Bluebells have been confident individuals this week as they have been using Digital technology as part of their learning. The children took photos on the ipad of each other as they were planting outside. They enjoyed using the smart board to copy exercises to songs. They watched and copied Makaton signs from YouTube and had a listen to some songs on earphones.

We had a fantastic summer trip to the Science Centre today. Lots of exhibits to explore and we visited a ‘Fun With Forces’ workshop where we worked with magnets and rockets. Our sociable lunch was pretty good too.

The Sungazers have been learning simple addition using a variety of timed active learning approaches. They also enjoyed some problem solving activities – Successful Learners

The Sungazers used a variety of technology to learn new skills and enjoyed photographing each other in the sensory garden – Confident Individuals.

A massive congratulations to Patrick who has been selected as one of the two Scottish Engineering Leaders Award Secondary 3 winners for his age group. Patrick will receive a trophy recognising that fact at an Award Ceremony at the University of Strathclyde. Patrick was a Responsible Citizen, designing a revolving garden which allowed wheelchair users to access flowervegetable beds. We are all so proud of Patrick – well done!

The Transition boys were put to good use on Friday afternoon. The boys have been so busy with their SQA classes that they haven’t completed classroom chores for a while. The boys were Responsible Citizens and took the opportunity to give the room a good spring clean!

The Transition boys took lessons outdoors again when they revisited number bonds. This time they were looking at the number groups that make up twelve. The boys found twelve large sticks and spend time dividing them up into two groups of different values. The boys were all Confident Individuals when they wrote their totals on the whiteboards.
