The Stars class had a visit to Café au Latte today. We chose tasty snacks to eat but above all enjoyed a lovely sociable experience with other classes.

Pupil’s brought in chocolate recipes for homework. We chose photographs for recipe cards and laminated them to stop them getting splashed in the kitchen. Some recipes were tried and tested at HE.
The Moonbeams worked hard and were very responsible during their Rebound session this week. The children were working on their core skills, balance and stopping and starting on request. They also operated technologies successfully during cookery. The children made toast with spaghetti using the microwave and toaster.

The Bluebells class enjoyed making a Bonfire themed snack today. We used chocolate fingers to create sparklers. We dipped them in melted white chocolate and added sprinkles. They tasted delicious!
The transition boys were being Responsible Citizens when they were looking at what the weather was going to be like when they go on their residential time away.
Jessica had raised money for jeans for Genes and got a special mention on Milkshake on Monday Morning – Well Done!!!!
This week we made cup cakes and decorated them like wee bonfires – Reece took charge and Adam was the chief taster.

The musical Oak class were performing again this afternoon, everyone successfully played our three songs. They were confident individuals following the music and feeling the rhythm.
Great singing and signing from everyone, lots of smiles from everyone.
We enjoyed listening to a firework story and then we made sparkly firework pictures. We were working on our fine motor skills to complete this task.
Café Latte has opened again for the year so we were busy making cupcakes for the café on Friday. Everyone was effective contributors and enjoying making and of course doing a quick quality control taste test once they were ready.

The Bluebells class enjoyed a Bonfire themed baking session this week where they made bonfire cupcakes using flakes and matchmakers.

The Bluebells class worked in pairs to create fireworks in a jar. We mixed vegetable oil and food colouring and when this was added to water, we could see fireworks exploding in our glass jar!
