LGBT – We Are Family

*Successful Learners*    *Confident Individuals*

The Moonbeams have enjoyed listening to a story about families this week. The children explored how families are all different; some large, some small, different races and genders. The children learned that even though families are different;  they all love each other and want the best for each other and enjoy doing fun things together.

The children had fun making up different families with cut out characters and identifying who they were and then they drew the family who they lived with.

FAOL Enterprise- Valentines Art

We worked hard on our enterprise project this term and have been choosing some lovely gifts to make out loved ones for valentines day. We were very careful to not waste any resources as we made each project, and shared whether or not we were happy with the finished product.

We have been learning all about Global goals 8 this term. We have been exploring the different jobs people can do and have been enjoying role playing as different people in the conservatory.

We also learned lots about Global goal 12- responsible consumption and production. We have been very responsible citizens and learned all about different kinds of pollution and how this affects the environment, humans and animals. We watch some videos about global warming before sharing our feeling with out peers, and made eco promises to walk on outings more regularly, recycle paper and plastic each day, and to litter pick to keep our school and local park clean and tidy.

Oak Class Bake Off

We finished off this week with a cookie bake off, we had two teams, two different recipes. Bring it on!

Healthy competition between the two teams, green team against the black team. No pupil wanted to be in Mrs Murray’s team, they have seen her baking skills!

We were all successful learners and followed the instructions to make the cookies.  They tasted lovely but we need more practice on working the appearance of our cookies.

Have a cup of kindness

To follow on from our friendship assembly and because February is Friendly February.  We made out own kindness cups. We decorated them with stickers and stampers and then picture a symbol of how we are going to be kind.  We chose sharing, helping, listening and hugging. We added these mugs along with some of our friendship assembly to our display and will continue to look at different ways to be friendly and kid throughout the month of February.

Chinese New Year

We enjoyed sensory assembly this week, thank you Snowdrops and Stars class.  We were experiencing Chinese New Year.

We have had a fantastic week with lots of magical moments that has made us very proud. It was far too difficult to pick one star of the week, so I gave it to the full Oak class. They were all confident individuals and successful learners when working towards their own targets.

Here are the reasons for achieving star of the week

Jack – Taking part in a two way conversation with an adult and giving a lot information without prompting questions

Cameron – For singing and signing full songs and having the confidence to complete the song

Blake – Independence and being caring towards his peers

Ethan – Increased concentration during swimming and improvement in swimming technique

Sam – Improvement in communication and using full sentences when asking an adult a question

Anthony – Using spontaneous phrases when having a conversation with adults
