So use anything you like to decorate it and ask a grown up to help you with tricky bits , you can use fruit , vegetables , flowers , twigs , arts and crafts supplies just experiment and see what you like … remember a good place to start is to look in a mirror at the features you have like a nose 👃 eyes👀 , ears 👂 and mouth ,then try and give you potato person the same .

To help you out I asked all the ladies in the class to make one for you all to see . What you think ? Do they deserve a thumbs up 👍🏻?

As always if you complete the task send a photo to Mr Campbell and he will let us see them or put them on the blog .

Stars Pea Head and Car Ramp Activities

Mrs Logan has been busy making the Pea Head person from this week’s blog. She decorated a cup with a face, filled it with compost and planted seeds in it. It will be kept well watered in her greenhouse. Mrs Logan used cress seeds instead of peas. She will send you a photo once the cress ‘hair’ has grown.

Mrs Chisholm has built a car ramp with her children. They are having great fun racing cars and seeing how far the cars travel if you make the ramp steeper.

Why don’t you try making these. Send in some photo’s if you do.

Have Fun! Stay Safe! ❤😊

Photo quiz

Hi everyone. Below is the link to the photo quiz. I was messing around in my garden with a lens you can attach to a phone so the photos are all of things close up. There are a few plants. You get points for saying what you see and bonus points for naming the plant (it’s quite tricky so I’ll give 100 bonus points each time).

Enjoy!

Stars Stone Painting

Mrs Westerman and her family have been painting stones to decorate their garden. They collected large stones, washed them, then painted colourful pictures and patterns on them. Afterwards they varnished them so that the rain would not wash the paint away. Which one is your favourite? Why don’t you try painting some.

Have Fun! Stay Safe!  ❤😊

Fun in the sun

Hello Snowdrops!

We’ve been enjoying lots of sunny weather and it’s good fun to play outside, but we must remember to stay safe.  Here are some photos of what we all need to do to stay safe in the sunshine.

Can you find – Mrs Brown with a sun?  Miss Kelly with her hat on?  Miss Taylor drinking some water?  Mrs Johnstone with her sun cream?  Mrs Collins wearing her sunglasses?

Have fun in the sun Snowdrops and stay safe!  We miss you all!

Improvised Story Telling

Hi everyone!

Beech ladies here – We have created a short story in video format based upon an activity we have done lots in class.

For this activity, we split into groups and each group is given the responsibility of deciding a key part of a story to help create it. For example, one group or pupil will have a selection of characters, another pupil or group may have some scenes or settings to choose for the story and other groups or pupils will have story problems, solutions and endings to choose from. The idea is to encourage us to use our thinking caps and listening skills (as well as improvisation skills!) to build an imaginative and fun story. This was our version after we rehearsed it a little! Mrs Wilson chose some characters, Mrs Howie made up some settings, Mrs Brady thought of some dilemmas for our characters and then Miss Woodburn thought of solutions for the dilemmas and finally, Mrs Shields gave us our ending.

(P.S The camera flipped after the video downloaded which is why we appear to point in the wrong direction!)

Anyway, we hope it makes you smile 🙂 #Staysafe

Sensory Fun

Here are some sensory activities to try throughout the week 🙂

  • Create your own sensory bottles using an empty water bottle. Add glitter, rice, pasta or any other resources you have in your house to the bottle, then carefully pour some water out of a jug. Screw the lid on and shake!

Here are some ideas 🙂

  • Make gloop by mixing 2 cups of cornflour with 1 cup of water. You can add a few drops of food colouring or some glitter too. Enjoy exploring how it feels, or practise writing letters and numbers.

  • Squirt two different colours of paint into a zip lock bag. Seal the bag and use your fingers to mix the colours together. What colour did you make?

Have fun!
