Sunny Days in the Snowdrops
Effective Contributors/Successful Learners
Now the sun is shining, the Snowdrops have been exploring what we need to do to keep safe when the sun is hot. Everyone showed interest in looking at pictures, smelling sun cream and trying on sun hats and sunglasses. We practised our Makaton signs and responded well to songs about the sun. The Snowdrops also experienced fun activities involving the sunshine colour yellow – sprinkling and playing with yellow coloured rice, citrus scented playdough and yellow water beads. Everyone showed interest in painting activities, creating a sun handprint picture and a finger printed pineapple. It’s been a busy week in the Snowdrops!
Fairytales – Making Our Castle
Confident Individuals and Effective Contributors
As part of our fairy tale topic, the Sunflower class participated in our team challenge to paint and build our own castle. Each child had their own part of the castle to paint and loved playing inside it once it was built!
Successful Learners
The Sunflower class enjoyed the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and were practising putting the bears, chairs, beds and porridge from the story in size order from smallest to largest. Each child also actively participated in our balancing bear game and enjoyed matching the correct objects to the characters.
FAOL Science: Balloon Cars
Yesterday, we were successful learners and explored forces during our Science lesson.
We carefully follow instructions to create a car, then added a balloon to act as the force. Some of our peers were confident individuals and made a prediction about what would happen after the balloon was released.
