Music with Gordon 11 May: Primary

What to do today

Today, we have a new song to warm up. Look out for new Karaoke Corner blog posts with songs to sing along with.

Please join in with the activities below. The more who can join in, the more fun, too. Not all of the activities are for everyone, so just do the ones you enjoy and as many times as you like.

Play along using any kind of instrument or use body percussion – clapping, tapping, clicking, stamping your feet.

Activities (links below)

  1. Hello Song
  2. Bounce and catch
  3. Clap, tap and sing along to Clap Your Hands Together.
  4. Watch the video and join in with Yoshi Whoops! Can you play it using  your own name? What about someone else’s name or that of a friend. Try it with a favourite character or soft toy.
  5. Now try playing Yoshi Whoops! using one or two instruments.
  6. Over the Irish Sea. Join in or hold on to a scarf with a partner to move to the song.
  7. Time to move. Play the instruments along to the video or get up and dance. If you like, get a scarf to play with.
  8. Time to chill. This week we are listening to some gentle music from Minecraft by C418. There are lots of tracks to choose from, but this one is called Sweden, which is where the Minecraft game originally came from.
  9. Goodbye Song

Hello Song

It’s a time to settle down for some music and there are lots of ways to join in. Use it on its own or before doing another music activity.

  1. Join in and sing, clap, tap and move along to the song!
  2. Maybe you can try using your voice
  3. Sign hello
  4. Tap fast and slow
  5. Sign “Stop” at the end
  6. Have fun!

Words

Hello, hello
Very nice to see you
Hello hello,
How are you today?
Hello, hello
Very nice to see you
Hello hello,
How are you today?
We say “Hello”
We’re very pleased to see you
We say “Hello”

(can you say and sign hello?)

We say “Hello”
We’re very pleased to see you
We say “Hello”

(tap along with the music, sign “Stop” at the end)

More ideas with this video

  • If you can’t tap along, maybe a friend can tap your arm or foot for you so that you can feel the beat of the music.
  • Can you stamp your feet to the music? Can you tap your shoulders or your head? Move your fingers
  • Maybe try playing along with a shaker, or tap something that makes a sound that you like. A box of cereal?

Group 5 Circle Time Monday 11th May

Hello Everyone,

Today I am feeling like Mr Snow because the weather has turned so cold again. I have been looking at the weather forecast and at one point the forecasters thought that it might snow!

Who do you feel like today?

As it is so chilly, why not do your movement inside today. How about some disco yoga to warm you up?

Today one of my jobs is to post some parcels. For Life-skills today why don’t you write some one a letter or draw them a picture. If you have stamps in the house you could then walk to a post box to post it. Maybe you will find one with a happy face like this!

Somebody keeps putting googly eyes on the postboxes where I live ...

Your first lesson today is Maths, so check out Steve’s Maths posts in the Secondary Maths section or Clare’s posts in the General Maths section.

After that it is time for PE so check in with Pedro for some fun exercises.

Have a break and then come back for story time at 10.30. Today’s story is The Badger’s Bath.

Then it is time for Sign of the Day with Lorna followed by Art with Steve.

After lunch it is time for Outdoor Learning with Gerry. I wonder what he has got planned for you?

Finally it is time for Health and Well-being. Why don’t you choose some kaleidoscope images to watch and relax to? I found this kaleidoscope video on youtube, I am going to watch it to help me relax.

Have a lovely day.
