P2 Learning Reflection and Highlights for W/E 12.11.21
Josh – I designed a giraffe with a Scotland flag. Giraffes can sleep when they are standing up. They have a very long neck. The have really long tongues.
Georgia – I made a rainbow coloured giraffe. They have a long neck and they are tall. They have a long tongue. They wrap their tongue around the leaves and eat them.
Grace – I enjoyed decorating my giraffe, I did little curls. Giraffes have to stand up so that predators cannot hunt them. They open one eye to look for predators that will sneak up!
Caleb – We learned facts about giraffes. They only sleep for 30 minutes. They have a long neck so they can reach the plants.
Ella – I liked doing PE yesterday. We played birthday games. I liked playing musical bumps. When the music was playing we danced and when the music stopped we had to sit down.
Louis – I liked playing birthday games for Alexander’s birthday.
Rhy-Lee – I liked learning about giraffes. They stand up and sleep. They have long tongues to wrap around and pull the leaves so they can eat them. I did a rainbow giraffe for the competition. They are going to decorate the giraffes and put them around Scotland.
Sebastian – We were doing giraffe pictures that were for an artist. They are going to choose a giraffe and he will paint his favourite giraffe. I did a Scotland design on my giraffe.
Lily – I liked doing PE. We played party games I like musical statues. When the music plays you dance and when the music stops you need to freeze.
Alexander – I liked playing my birthday games for PE. I liked doing duck, duck goose!
Arianna – I enjoyed making the poppy picture.
Jack – I liked doing the giraffes. I did a dot pattern.
Kyra – I liked the party games for PE. I liked musical bumps and musical statues!
Oliver – I enjoyed making the poppies. We use them to remember about people who died in the war. A purple poppy is for the animals who died in the wars.
Olivia – I enjoyed free play. I made pussy cats from paper.
Thea – I enjoyed playing the party games yesterday. My favourite was musical statues!
P2 Learning Reflection for W/E 26.11.21
Willow – We learned ow and ‘ai’ sounds, cow has the ‘ow’ sound. Snail and rain have the ai sound.
Kyra – I enjoy singing the Nativity songs. My favourite one is Three Kings!
Josh – I liked sewing this week. I am sewing a gingerbread man. It was tricky to do chain stitch so I am doing straight stitch.
Lily – I like sewing. I am making a reindeer. I am good at stitching!
Caleb – I am making a gingerbread man. I am sewing all around it and I have eyes and icing on it!
Grace – I enjoyed sewing this week. I am making a reindeer and am going to leave it out with a note for Santa on Christmas Eve!
Oliver – I like reading. I liked when I saw a funny bit in my reading book. It was about a monkey that can clap!
Olivia – I enjoyed learning the ‘ow’ sound. Cow, now and brown have the ‘ow’ sound.
Elyas – I liked doing PE we were catching animals from the big pond and putting them in our team pond. My team were good at it!
Rhy-Lee – I liked learning the ‘ai’ sound, we made words with it. Spain had the ‘ai’ sound.
Alexander – I liked doing science. I like making bubbles. So you have to get a paper straw and a plastic straw. You get paper and you blow the mixture and it makes bubbles. Then you have to put the paper on top. The paper straw was best for blowing bubbles!
Thea – I like sewing. I am making a gingerbread man.
Jack –I enjoyed sewing. I put on pink jelly eyes. I am sewed it all up.
Georgia – We are painting a Christmas book cover for the lunch hall. I was painting the houses and the sky.
Louis – I like doing science. We were making bubbles. We made circle shapes with them.
Ella – I like doing the Nativity songs. I like all of them!
Arianna – I liked reading. Pip fell off and they all went in the snow.
Nathan – I liked free writing Friday. I wrote I was playing roblox in my house.

P3 – W.C. 8th November
Primary three have had a busy week of learning.
Our IDL (Inter Disciplinary Learning) about space fed through our learning this week. The class learned about why the Earth, Moon and Sun are important to us and how they work. This led us nicely into our Maths and Science work, looking at the seasons and the months of the year. The class also continued to practise their time work. We created planets using mixed media and are going to assemble a model next week.
In French, we labelled bodies with their correct French words. We also practised our head, shoulders, knees and toes song (Tête, Épaules, Genoux et Pieds) very enthusiastically!
In Art, we created pointillism poppies which are now beautifully displayed on our wall.
The class were very respectful during the minutes silence and their understanding of Rememberence Day.
I – I really enjoyed making the pointilism poppies.
C – I loved making the planets in art.
L – I really enjoyed our French this week.
L – I liked learning football skills in PE.

P2 Learning Reflection W/E 5th November 2021
This week in P2 the phonics focus has been: u-e, i-e and o-e. Our common words were: go, he and baby. We have started learning the songs to our Nativity, we are enjoying being able to sing in class again. P2 learned how to stay safe during bonfire night and completed the SSPCA #FireworkSafety quiz! Josh – I enjoyed talking ‘all about me’. I spoke clearly and I kind of looked at my audience. I used card to help me remember.
Willow – I like the star song we are learning. We are going to do a Nativity!
Oliver – I like building stuff. I am building towers!
Thea – I like doing numbers on my whiteboard.
Louis – We learned the u-e sound, brute has the u-e sound. We were singing, there is a great big star in the star tonight!
Kyra – We learned the split digraph u-e. The magic ‘e’ turns the ‘u’ into an oo sound!
Caleb – I did a class talk. I looked at my audience sometimes and I spoke clearly!
Georgia – I liked singing the songs. We done a Christmas Eve one and we did one about a star. I like the Christmas Eve one.
Jack – We are learning about materials. The paper towel and the cloth were absorbent. They sook up the water. The plastic sheet was not absorbent.
Ella – We learned the split digraph i-e. Nice has the i-e sound!
Alexander – We were doing number talks. We did doubles and near doubles. I said five plus five equals ten. So I said it was a double!
Grace – I enjoyed the ‘All About Me’ talk. I enjoyed telling everyone the interesting fact about my hip!
Elyas – I liked making ten using number sentences in number talks. We were doing 4+6+4. You can make ten with six plus four, and then add the four to the ten to make fourteen!
Lily – I like doing the Nativity. We are learning songs. I like the great big star song!
Sebastian – I liked singing. It was really fun because I like singing because it is cool. I like the star song!
Nathan – I like playing with the big bricks. I am building a big tower!
Arianna – I liked reading. I like ‘Sam Sat’ because his mum tells him to sit so he does not fall. Sam falls off his skateboard then he gets a bandage on his head!
