After all our Titanic research, P5 have been learning about what makes a boat buoyant. We tested out our theories using tin foil to make the boats and weighed them down using pennies. The record was 42 pennies in one tiny tin foil boat!

P5 sail aboard the Titanic!
Primary 5 learned so much today from our Titanic workshop! We took on different roles as the passengers and crew of the ship. We found out what happened from the shipyards to the day the ship went down. Thanks to Captain Sean for such a memorable day!
P5 Handball Festival!
P5a and P5b had a great time this morning at the Handball Festival at Broxburn Academy! We were in 5 teams and played 5-a-side matches against 5 other schools. We have been practising handball over the last few weeks in PE and played fairly with some excellent tactical moves! Thanks to the parent helpers who walked us along too!
P5 learn about the digestive system!

P5 have been learning about body systems. This week we looked at the digestive system and did a messy practical experiment! Our digital leaders made a quick video to display the learning.
STEM Vertical Learning Group
P3-P7 have been in Vertical learning groups today. In our STEM group we were learning about circuits and worked together to design our own. Mrs Kilpatrick shared her engineering expertise!

The Travelling Gallery
Primary 4 enjoyed visiting the travelling gallery yesterday too! We were able to discuss the artworks and interact with each one. The travelling gallery is currently displaying artwork by contemporary artists inspired by digital technology and takes it to people across Scotland. We loved it!
P4b Andy Goldsworthy Art
P4b had their turn of creating their own Andy Goldsworthy style artworks using the brightly coloured leaves on the field! They came up with some really creative ideas and worked together well in their groups.
P4a Andy Goldsworthy Art
Primary 4a had fun in the field on Tuesday creating their own artwork inspired by artist Andy Goldsworthy. They used different coloured leaves to stand out against a dull background. The result was very effective! 
Ellie aces Taekwon-Do!
Ellie has just moved up to the Blue Stripe level in Taekwon-Do! What a great achievement! Well done!
Milo’s Medal!
Congratulations to Milo for winning a medal at his rugby match at the weekend! He tells us that he got very muddy but it was great fun! Well done Milo!
P1 and P2 Scoot and Skip!

Spring is the season when cute, little baby lambs and chicks are born.
People come out to play when it’s sunny and mild.
Rabbits are soft and warm.
Insects like caterpillars and ladybirds come out of hiding.
Nests are cosy for birds’ eggs to hatch.
Grass starts growing big and green.
