Today in Primary 1, we had great fun learning all about Robert Burns. We learned that he was a super clever man, who lived in Scotland. We learned that he wrote lots and lots of poems. We listened to some of his poems. We also learned about the traditional Burns Supper, which includes Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.

We listened to some Scottish songs (and learned about bagpipes). We then learned to sing some Scottish songs, including Donald Where’s Yer Troosers?’, ‘Ye Cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff The Bus’ and ‘Ali Bali Bee’.

We then learned some Scottish words:

Wheisht – Roman

Braw – Andrew

Ston up – Max & Megan

Doon – Lucia & Julia D

Aye – Joshua

Heid – Justyna

Lugs – Toby

We then had our own Burns Supper. We had some oatcakes and cheese and some shortbread.
