5 chrysalis hanging in a row…

Primaries 2 and 2/1 would like to say a huge thank you to Miss Toner for helping us transfer our caterpillar chrysalis’ into their new environment.  She had to be very careful when moving them as they are extremely delicate and are in the process of turning into a butterfly.  Although they don’t look like they are doing very much right now, a lot of changes are happening inside the chrysalis.  The caterpillar’s body turns into liquid inside the chrysalis and then a new body forms.  We are excited to see the wings emerge from the chrysalis!

Yesterday, Emily and Ethan brought in a photo album containing photographs of the life cycle of a butterfly that their mum had taken in her own back garden.

We then made mobiles to hang in our classroom showing the life cycle.

We will keep you informed of what happens next!
