Points from previous meeting:
• Our rights ambassadors told us about their meeting with the RRS group this month.
Main discussion points from today:
• In today’s meeting we talked about what ‘Community’ means and how we are all part of the Chatelherault Primary School community.
• The children talked about the different groups that make up our community – in school, out of school and the different groups or clubs that the children attend.
• We discussed the importance of showing good qualities to represent ourselves in the community. The children identified kindness, respect, being polite, and caring for others.
• The children created artwork to promote these positive qualities within our school.
Focus Article:
Article 12 (respect for the views of the child)
• Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously.
Action Points:
• Children will have a think about what groups in our community might need some support and what we could do to help them. We will discuss this at our next meeting.
