Our visit from the Scalloway Fire Festival

Today we had a visit from the Scalloway Fire Festival’s Jarl Squad.

Two people from our school were in it and their big sister as well. Erin from our class and Danny from P345. Erin said there was about 50 people in the Jarl Squad so it was quite claustrophobic in the hall.

The men/boys wore a black tunic a shield and an axe. The men also wore a reindeer skin and the boys wore a blue sheep skin. The girls wore a blue dress and a grayish cloak and four of them held a banner saying “Scalloway Fire Festival” .

Ben Kay

This is Ben here. I used to be in P6 at Tingwall but I moved to Australia last year. I am  going to tell you what its like down under.

It is usually hot about 30 Degrees Celsius, pretty nice temperature right? My favourite part of living in Australia is the weather!

The sea is nice to cool off on hot days, you can also surf, boogie board or just swim.

My house is very cool and big. We have a pool and live close to the beach.

There are lots of dangerous animals in Australia like Salt Water Crocodiles, Jellyfish, Spiders and Sharks!

Our WW2 Topic

This term our topic is World War II.

This week we have been learning about how the war started and the countries involved and what side they were on.

The war started because The Nazi’s invaded Poland, Britain and France immediately declared war on Germany. The two sides were called the Allies and The Axis. The main countries in the Allies were Britain, France, Soviet Union (Russia) and USA. The Axis were Germany, Italy and Japan.

Some of us made WWII airplanes, we also started our Personal Projects about WWII.
