Swimming

On Tuesday the 27th we went to Scalloway for our class swimming lesson.

We were practising the breast stroke, front crawl and back crawl.

We were also practising surface diving.

There are four lanes the two middle ones are for the more advanced swimmers and the two end ones are for the swimmers who need more work.

Drama with Izzy

On Thursday the 29th of January, Izzy Swanson came in to do some WW2 drama with us.

First we had to be children in a playground in 1939, we had to do something that they would have played in that time such as marbles, hopscotch, skipping and football.

Then we had to be evacuating children getting aboard a train. You were often in a carriage with nobody you knew, if you had a friend you would be very lucky!

When Izzy left we had to think about a name and a family for our character. I am sure the whole class enjoyed it and look forward to next time.

Swimming

This week on Tuesday we went to Scalloway pool to do swimming lessons with Mr McNiven our P.E teacher.

We were doing lengths  with the floats and a pool boy and normal lengths. The most we did was 8 in one go, 2 with the float, 2 with the pool boy and 2 front crawl and 2 any stroke.

It was really fun and we all enjoy it.

Future Gadgets

On Thursday 22nd of January we had to come up with what some gadgets would look like and their functions in about 30 to 50 years. some of the ideas were a tv that you could go into any programme. A mobile phone that was basically a headset that projected the phone image into a hologram in front of you, you could also be phoned and that persons face would appear in front of you and many other great ideas. We enjoyed it very much andwould do something similar in the future

Reebops

On Wednesday the P7’s created Reebops.

The way we created them was we were learning about genes and genetics. In pairs we had to chose who was “a” and “b”. Then the a’s got pink pieces of paper with letters on it. The b’s got blue pieces of paper with the same amount of letters on it. So then we had to turn the paper over in the order so we couldn’t see the letters. After we had to randomly pick between the small letters and the capital letters.

The pieces of paper acted as our chromosomes to decide what inherited characteristics our baby Reebops would have!

After that we had to look at what we picked and make our Reebops and they are SOOOOOOOO cute!
