Week Beginning 8/6/20

Hello Room 4,

I hope that you are all doing well.  You’ll remember that last week I set you a special task to write the P7s a farewell message?   Well I want to say a HUGE thank you to the children that sent me in their messages.  They were fabulous and they made me smile.  I just know that the P7s will love them!  If you haven’t written yours yet, that’s okay but please send them to me this week.  P7s, you also need to write some for each other too.

A huge well done to Brooke and Riley for their work on Sumdog last week! Brooke and Riley have both been rewarded with 200 coins for spending the most time on Sumdog.  Riley has been rewarded another 200 coins for having the most correct answers out of the whole class overall.  I wonder who will get the 200 coins reward this week?

This week I’d like to give a Star Writer certificate to Kyle for his super story called ‘The Boy’.  It’s a story all of our Star Wars fans will enjoy.  Well done Kyle!

Last Friday another NLC Sumdog challenge began.  The challenge will continue this week and finish on Thursday at 8pm.  I hope that you enjoy taking part and representing your school.

Have a great week everybody! I look forward to receiving the rest of your messages for the P7s.

Love from,

Miss Richardson

KILSYTH’S GOT TALENT!

You still have time to get involved in one of the most popular events in Civic Week – the talent show!  Despite not being able to do this in person you can make a video and send it in.  The Civic Week team will create a digital show for everyone to enjoy.

Sumdog NLC Contest

Woohoo!  NLC Sumdog Contest!

Fri 5th 8am- Thurs 11th 8pm June

Come on Chapelgreen!  We are great at Sumdog!

Let us work together and top the leaderboard!

How it works

  • To take part, students simply play Sumdog’s maths games.
  • Scores are based on accuracy, and questions tailored to each student’s level – so everyone has a fair chance.
  • Each contest runs from 8am Friday to 8pm the following Thursday – but you can play at any time during this period.

Rewards for students

  • As a reward for taking part, each student who answers 100 questions will receive an item for their Sumdog House.

Best Results

  • When we work as a team and each and every pupil plays for at least 20-30 mins each day we get the best results.
  • If you play every day, including Saturday and Sunday, we’ll get the best results.

Friday Challenge-CCK Virtual Relay- Friday 5th June

Fun Friday Challenge

CCK North Lanarkshire Active Schools Virtual Relay Challenge

This week we would love if you would participate in the Active Schools Virtual Relay.

All you have to do is walk, run, scoot or cycle a distance of your choice and send in your distance so it can be collated. The school will then send the totals to Active Schools Co-ordinator who will work out which city we have managed to travel to.

As a small school, we know that we might not travel as far as some other large schools but we are always up for a challenge. All pupils and staff are encouraged to participate.

So, lace up the trainers, get on the walking shoes or look out the bike or scooters and get involved.

We would encourage you to take photos and tweet them using the hashtag #CCKVirtualRelay and #NLActiveSchools and also remember to tag us @Chapelgreen _PS

Once you are done either tweet the distance using @NLActiveSchools or if you prefer, email the distance to Mrs Savva rmeimaroglou@chapelgreen.n-lanark.sch.uk
Take a look at the poster attached to find out more details. Should you have any questions please just get in touch with Mrs Savva.

Week Beginning 1/6/20

Hello Room 4,

I hope that you are all doing well.  Thank you to all of you who have sent me your work.  I am always so happy to hear from you and see what you have been learning.  Well done to Lea for her book review on Artemis Fowl, it was great.  I am sure you’ll inspire others to read it too.  Well done to Kyle, Lana-Rose and Nathan who showed me their work in spelling and maths.  What a fabulous job you’re doing.  Keep it up!

A huge well done to Rose and Ainsley for their work on Sumdog last week!  Ainsley had the most correct answers overall and Rose spent the most time on Sumdog.  They have been rewarded with 200 coins each.  I wonder who will get the 200 coins reward for this week?

Lots of Pupils have earned Studyladder certificates.  A huge well done to Amy, Lea, Nathan, Kyle, Lucy, Ava and Riley.

I also want to give a Star Writer certificate to Rose for her wonderful story called The Robin, The Wind and The Raven.  Make sure you have a tissue at the ready for the ending.

I have a very important and very special task for the whole class this week.  As you know it is coming up to the end of the school year.  Normally at this time of year the P7 children would be making their year books and we would be writing comments in the back.  This year things are different but I would still like them to have a keepsake reminding them of their time at Chapelgreen and our class.  I would like you to please write a short message or letter to each of our wonderful P7s sharing your memories of them, saying goodbye and wishing them good luck for the future (any drawings or pictures would be welcome too).  I will combine these to create a lovely gift for each of them to remember us by.

Have a great week everybody!  I look forward messages for the P7s.

Love from,

Miss Richardson
