P1/2 had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day. Reading books, Scavenger hunts and play linked to book themes. The Aliens from Aliens love underpants even visited Queenzieburn by crash landing. Luckily the boys and girls built a new spaceship for them and the all the underpants in the local area were saved 😅 👽 🩲 🚀
Some of Santa’s reindeer have fallen ill and he put out a post to hire five more reindeer. Thank goodness for the children of room 2 who have transformed themselves into reindeer and are ready to help! Welcome to Santa’s team: Hopper and Skipper, Runner and Spinner and our littlest reindeer Jumper!
Last week P1/2 were writing about fireworks. The whole class managed to make it to the Star Writers wall as they all used words to describe the fireworks they saw. They used words like sparkling, golden, colourful, spinning rainbows and exploding. Great Job P1/2!
P1/2 had some fun in our witches house today making some very dangerous potions. They were using vampire blood, ghost dust and even some zombie slime! 👻 🧟♀️ 🧛♀️ 🎃
P1/2 have had a great time today. They started their morning with a very spooky Halloween hunt around the nature garden, finding everything from ghosts and skeletons to bats and a lost little trick or treaters 😬

P1/2 had their second day of fire pit training. They worked together to gather the resources and were practising being very safe around the fire. Everyone enjoyed a lovely roasted marshmallow! 😋 Thank you to Alexa for being a very helpful fire assistant. 👏🏻
A big well done to this weeks star writers. P1’s worked hard to write their common words all by themselves and P2’s were trying hard to write independently and finish on time.
P1/2 have began their new PE topic of gymnastics. They showed how they could move in different ways when traveling around the playground and they practiced their flexibility and body control when performing different moves.
P1/2 have been creating some rainy day pictures this afternoon. They were mixing colours to make grey for the clouds and choosing colours that would stand out on their umbrella design.
P1/2 have been writing stories about building their bug hotel. A big well done to all these star writers!
