In art, Room 3 have been exploring colour using paints. They have been mixing paints to create new colours and they have been grouping colours into those that are hot colours and those that are cold colours.
Room 3 have been talking about their emotions and have set themselves a target which is to tell about how they are feeling. They have been exploring phrases they can use and ways they should react when they win or lose a game.
Room 3 have been exploring facial expressions and emotions. We went outside to create faces using natural materials and objects. We realised that we could change the expressions on our faces by moving the mouth and eyebrows!
Room 3 have been exploring the use of masks. We talked about how masks are used to protect us in sports, to protect us against germs and are used as part of uniforms or costumes.
We designed our own face masks, superhero masks and carnival masks.
The pupils were peer assessing each other’s stories and self assessing their own work. Lots of great conversation about their learning and how to improve their standards. Well Done.
Thank you to the Parent Council for organising the Easter boat race. The children had fun designing and making their boats before watching them race down the burn. Well done to all of the winners!
In Room 3, we were learning the ‘bridge’ technique and the ‘claw’ technique for cutting foods safely. We then learned how to write a recipe so that we could take the recipe home and make some soup for our family.
