This week we celebrated the whole class gaining a Star Citizen award for their respectful and inclusive attitudes towards others needing support around the school 🤩

We also had a rare old time celebrating Hallowe’en with a catwalk in the style of the game ‘Dress to Impress’ – check out our poses! We also played the ‘Mummies’ game, seeing which group could create the most effective looking Mummy that didn’t unravel when they were given tasks to do.

Room 9 – Halloween

We have all been very excited in class this week because of Halloween.

Our party yesterday went very well and we decided to do something very different with the rest of Primary 3. Firstly we got to see all our friends in the other classes because we had a special parade outside Room 9 and we got to see all the costumes. Our favourite was Mr Allen who was dressed up as Spongebob Square Pants, he even got us to sing the theme tune.

After the parade we were allowed to go to a P3 classroom of our choice, to do different Halloween activities. In Room 7 we got to show our construction skills by making haunted houses. In Room 8 we were doing Halloween art work where we got to use watercolours to make spiderwebs. Mr Allen brought his disco speaker for dancing and party games, he even had time to show us a couple new dance moves. Room 9 liked “Big Fish, Little Fish”. Mrs Kelly got us to do Pumpkin Bowling which was really good fun.

Before we all went home, we had time to go back to our own class for a party snack. The photograph below shows the costumes that we were wearing.

This week, Room 21 have been looking at the visual element of line when creating our Tim Burton inspired self-portraits! We used sketing pencils to draw our portrait first and then charcoal to shade for effect.

Our Marvellous Week! R18

This week has been very fun and delightful and its time for the break! We have learned about Black History month and some cool facts. Lets tell you what we have been up to! Krista and Kai went to speak up a the P3 and 4 assembly they were so brave! We played around the world and made it two times. And Cole won both of them. Star of the week was Brodie and Laura. We learned math art. We were relieved to learn that our classmate on holiday in Florida was safe with his family in the hotel. blog by Sophie Lindsay and Ella Easton

Week Beginning 30th Sept – Welcome October!

We finished our class novel , ‘The Magic Far Away Tree’ class book and finished our chapters that we wrote about the lands at the top of the tree. Some of word processed these on the Chromebooks. At assembly Lucas was voted the Vice-Captain for the Air house. He was very proud as were we. There are going to be lots of opportunities for us to be ambassadors for different pupil voice groups. Krista is already our pupil Heath and Well being ambassador and works with a group and Miss McFarlane. It is going to be exciting to see which groups we will end up being a part of.

Room 8’s Fantastic Blog

In Room 8 this week, as part of our IDL topic, we have been learning about the Ancient Egyptians and their pyramids. We learned that the tip of pyramids are sometimes golden. There can be hieroglyphic writing on the pyramids too. We made pyramids using straws, play doh and blue tak. It was great fun!

We have been doing some Halloween art this week. We have been designing bunting to hang in our classroom. We used step by step drawings to help us.

Our spelling sounds this week were ‘wa’ and ‘ue’. We worked on these using active strategies like hieroglyphic spelling.

We have been doing lots of number talks, to give us lots of strategies to use. We have been working on adding 9 using out friendly number 10. We learned a song to help us do this.

We had a visit from Mrs Muddle and we had to correct the paragraph that she left us because she forgot her punctuation.

In PE we have been working on ball skills. We were practicing chest pass and shoulder pass and working on our sportsmanship.

Room 4 Blog

Good afternoon,

We have had a great first week back after the October Week.

This week in Room 4 we have:

AM – We played Ollie Ollie Octopus to warm up in PE.

CG – We learnt to ‘ow’ sound and new common words – yellow, grow, again and food.

IG – We read the story Funny Bones then wrote sentences about the skeletons.

LS – We made our own skeletons out of cotton buds.

MG – We looked at measuring objects in maths and ordered them into the longest and shortest.

MM – We used cubes and our hands to measure different objects in the class like tables, pencils, trays, books and chairs.

YS – We done a group quiz about space with Mr McKay .

EM – We learnt a new French song with Mrs Robinson called Frère Jacques.

AP – We went to the school library and chose new books.

EF – We practiced some of the songs we sing at assembly with Mrs Robinson.
