Room 17’s Epic Blog

We had so much fun this week and would love to tell you about it.

Firstly, Room 17 had a ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom Day’. On that day we finished our book called Kensuke’s Kingdom so we did a book  review. Here is an example: Peyton said ‘In this book a boy called Michael tried to save Stella, his dog but he fell in the water. Peyton gave this book four and a half stars.

We also did handwriting. We were learning capitals. We had already learned A-T so we were focusing on U-Z. We even wrote a sentence in all capitals  ‘I DISAPPEARED THE NIGHT BEFORE MY TWELFTH BIRTHDAY’. It was so fun .

We had so much fun telling you about our week so please come back next time for more .

Room 6 Outdoor Learning

In Room 6 we have had a fantastic week back after the October Week. We have all worked hard to get back into our class and school routines.

For our topic this term we are going to be learning about Sustainability. For our first activity Mr Allen took the class outside for the afternoon so that we could learn about the nature around our school. We went on a Nature Scavenger Hunt which meant we had to note down all the different forms of nature. The class were able to find different flowers, leaves, birds and insects.

Room 3

Room 3 have had a lovely first week back after the October week! Everyone has settled back into our routines beautifully and it’s been wonderful to see how excited the children are to get back to learning together. This week, we introduced two new sounds. The children have been learning to say, write and recognise these sounds in different words. We’ve had lots of fun playing sound games and exploring words that include ‘p’ and ‘n’. It’s been fantastic to see the children becoming more confident in hearing and identifying these sounds in the world around them.

In numeracy, we’ve started learning about addition. The class have been discovering what it means to “add” and we’ve explored different materials to help us understand this, such as cubes. The class have enjoyed working together and sharing their strategies.

Overall, it’s been a busy and exciting week of learning in Room 3 and we’re looking forward to another great week ahead!

Just a note to say if all homework jotters and folders are in school bags on a Tuesday and Wednesday, therefore new homework can be placed into the folder. Additionally, a Christmas art activity has been put in your child’s bag, this is an optional activity. The Parent Council is arranging for the children to draw a Christmas picture which will then be able to be ordered on Christmas cards and many other items. It must be completed and brought back to school by the 5th of November.

I hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

Our Last 2 Weeks in Room 24

October 24, 2025 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

Hi and welcome to the room 24 blog by Aaron and Harris for last week and John and Alexander for this week.

The girls got the opportunity to start football training and some even took part in their first tournament. They did really well by winning or drawing their games!

In maths, we’ve been working with decimals and learning how to multiply and divide them.

For Halloween, we created themed neon signs using soft pastels and chalk to make a glowing effect. Take a look at the photo below to see how some of them turned out.

We’ve started our new topic – the DigiInventors Challenge set by Glasgow City College. We’ve got to design a digital device to help young people with medical or learning conditions and then create a presentation to submit. Its going to be a busy term but we hope to have some winners when they’re announced next year.

We had an exciting delivery from Katy our Active Schools Coordinator… Pickleball sets! We’ll be starting a block on this from next week and we can’t wait! Katy has also been leading the Sidekicks training for some of us, so we’ll be able to lead P1-3s in playing games.

There’s been so much going on that we could keep going on and on and on… So we’ll stop it there!

Thanks for reading!

Room 2

We have been looking back at our first term in Primary 1. It has been filled with lots of lovely memories and we can’t believe we are at the end of this term already! Today we discussed some of our achievements so far and wanted to share some of these with you:

IC – I have got more confident with building stuff because I have been learning it at my house and then doing it in the class.

OMcM – I have got more confident with running because I figured out a trick. My trick is that I move my legs faster.

AH – I am more confident tidying up in the classroom because every time I have people in the creative area helping me.

NN – I am more confident at drawing a person. I like doing maths as well.

IJ – I am more confident at gym.

MK – I am more confident at cutting now.

KH – I am more confident at play because I play and draw.

Thank you to our parents/carers for coming along last night to our first Parents’ Evening. I hope it was an informative meeting and if you require any further support/have any questions, please just get in touch.

We hope everyone has a fantastic October break and we look forward to all the fun and new adventures in Term 2. 🙂
