Room 7

After making our own chocolate bars, Room 7 have been working on advertising them. This has involved designing a poster using persuasive language to encourage people to choose our chocolate. We also wrote a jingle/slogan for our chocolate bar.

We have been learning the 2 times table using arrays to help us calculate the answers. We have learnt that multiplication can also be written as repeated addition.

We spent time learning about behaviour as communication and shared what we discussed at assembly.

Have a lovely weekend!

Room 13 Showcase and trip week

Good afternoon,

We had a very busy week as always in Room 13. Our main focus was our showcase as we practised our drama, our songs, started making some cardboard Waverley boats, made flags, researched towns, listed facts and much more. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout at the event and it was a pleasure to host you. The children were so excited to have you there and I was proud of their performances and everyone seemed to enjoy some of the activities on the day. Unfortunately, I once again forgot to take any pictures so I have none to post.

Today we went to the Glasgow Science Centre with Room 11 and had a brilliant day. The children had a great time exploring the floors and the Planetarium was a massive hit in the afternoon as we learned a bit more about space. I personally liked how Saturn’s rings linked to our water topic for Science back in term one about solids, liquids and gases as the rings are made of ice. We could easily have spent another few hours in the Science Centre as our day went very fast and it was so much fun. The one picture I did remember to take was of the Waverley itself which we were lucky enough to see.

Next week should be a return to a more regular week although we will need to do our dictated sentences and VIP of the week on Monday as we never did that today due to the trip. Thursday is World Book day and we will be reading with Room 23. There is a menu change for this day as well.

Have a great weekend.

Kind Regards,

Mar Dalling.

Our Week in Room 21

March 1, 2024 by Miss Napier | 0 comments

This week in room 21 we’ve been writing persuasive letters to the International Paralympic Committee. Gymnastics isn’t included as an event right now and we hope our letters will support the British Gymnastics campaign to have it included in time for the 2028 Games.

During maths, we’ve been finishing up our data handling learning. We researched the average monthly rainfall in Glasgow (after learning about the water cycle) and compared it with the rainfall in a different European city. Then we created bar charts to show the data using Google Docs. THEN we worked out the range, median, mode and mean for Glasgow’s rainfall.

Room 1

Good afternoon everyone!

As part of our Under the Sea focus the boys and girls have been learning about protecting our oceans. We talked about how it is important to not throw litter as it can hurt the sea creatures and their homes.

We made a poster to encourage all our friends at our school to look after our oceans and not drop litter.

We then went on a protest through our school and outside so that everyone could hear our important message, “No Litter in our Oceans”.

Please see some pictures from our learning this week.

Thank you

Excellent Emotion Work in Room 2

This week we have been exploring February’s Nurture theme – All behaviour is communication.

Sometimes we find it tricky to use our words but our faces and bodies can give us clues as to how we are feeling.

We played a fun game to act out different emotions and our friends had to guess based on our actions. We were really good at this game!

Have a look at some of our amazing actors below.
