This week in Room 5, we began learning multiplication skills and different strategies to help us answer sums. We will be moving on to the 10x table next week. We learned a new sound ‘ow’ as in ‘snow’. For our topic this week we looked at different parts of a castle, and why they were built the way that they are now. We learned that some people can live in castles today, but the castles they live in today look very different to the castles built before. For P.E we will be starting Gymnastics, this week we focused on our balancing skills and using different parts of our body to move around the room. This week we also started a 3 week block of daily writing, and each day we will look at something a bit different. For this week we looked at Fragments of sentences, and the learners are amazing at identifying what sentence is a fragment and what it is that is missing from each sentence.

It has been such a lovely first week back.

Ayesha: I enjoyed learning about the 2 times table.

Lucia: We learned football with Mrs Sheed.

Alice: We learned fragments, making a messed up sentence into a good sentence.

Aulay: I enjoyed making lanterns and learning about diwali.

Peyton: I am looking forward to making my own castle from cardboard.

Cameron: We learned about celebrations around the world.

David: We learned the 2 times table.

Alice: I also enjoyed learning the 2 times table.

Shreyan: We learned 4 new common words, yellow grow again and food.

Mustafa: We learned about fragments.

Harris: We were counting by 2s, 5s and 10s.

 

Reminders:

Homework can be brought in for me too look at the following week from when it is issued, and it will be updated every Monday on Parents Portal. The children do ha for Google Classroom, and we will send email addresses home to help aid the log in, but they are still focusing on learning their passwords. Hopefully we can get this up and running soon!

Please remember to send a water proof jacket with your child every single day, especially now we are approaching more rainy days! Even if it is just in their bag.

Halloween Disco for Primary 2 is on Tuesday.
