We have had an exciting week in P1! The children have been working hard, learning new skills and having lots of fun along the way. Here’s a little look at what we have been getting up to in class.

In Literacy, we have continued exploring rhyming words. The children have been listening carefully to words and identifying which ones rhyme. We have enjoyed coming up with our own rhyming pairs and developing our listening skills through lots of fun activities. We have also been learning about syllables. The children have been practising clapping out the syllables in different words, helping them to hear the individual parts within a word.

In Maths, we have been focusing on the numbers 0 and 1. We have been learning about what these numbers mean, recognising their values and practising how to form them correctly.

Our topic this week has been all about minibeasts!

We have been learning about different types of minibeasts, where they live and some fascinating facts about them. The children have been discovering that minibeasts can be found in lots of different habitats and have enjoyed talking about what they look like, where they might find them and how they live.

I have a lovely weekend!
