Room 8’s Diary!

Room 8 have had a busy few weeks and would love to tell you all about it…

A few weeks ago we had the best time on our school trip to The Rural Life Museum in East Kilbride.  We travelled there by bus which was fun because the bus driver played songs we could sing along to.  When we arrived we visited the museum and had a look at all the tractors.  Some of them were really old and rusty and some were very modern.  We had lots of fun playing in the park and got photographs on Fergie the Tractor.  Then we visited the farm and got to see piglets; they were very smelly and shy.  We travelled back to the museum on the tractor.  It was super fun but very bumpy.  (boys and girls room 8)

Although it was very cold and wet in the morning the children had the best time at the park, the farm and in the museum. They enjoyed learning about the different tractors and learning that some of the adopted bees had the same name as them.

Our IDL topic, Chocolate has been so much fun.  We have learned the process involved in making chocolate and that cocoa beans are sourced from hot countries.  With our creative minds we have designed and produced our very own chocolate. We designed a wrapper for our chocolate and made up a jingle to advertise it.  We can’t wait for you to hear them at our learning showcase in April.

In maths, we have been learning how organise and read data.  We have learned about Venn and Carroll Diagrams, tally charts, bar graphs and pictograms.

Keep an eye out for our fabulous photographs!

Mrs Kerr will be uploading them very soon
