This week we have been exploring the nurture principle of language is a vital means of communication. We began by working in groups to gather ideas on how we communicate. From this we realised that we communicate in lots of different ways apart from talking. To put this into practise we had a no talking time on Thursday morning from 9am until 10am. During this time we had to use other ways to communicate including writing, Makaton and facial expressions. It was a great experience and everyone managed to stay silent during this time!
Another way we had thought about communicating was Braille. Lucy and Mrs Anderson from Room 22 kindly agreed to visit us to tell us about Braille. They told us all about Braille and how Lucy uses this to read and write. Lucy demonstrated the Brailler and a couple of children even got the chance to try it out.
Have a great weekend.
