Writing, Numeracy and IDL in Room 24 this week!

On Monday all of the P7 pupils got together to reflect on our time at our Residential trip and Fun Days.

We used our emotion works skills to reflect on the activities we took part in on our trips.

We then came together in groups to create Poems of different styles that incorporated our reflections.

We also worked in groups to complete a budgeting task that saw us plan our own residential trips and fun days.

The pupils in Room 24 have been consolidating and expanding their knowledge of place value. We began by revising how a digit’s value is determined by its place in a number. We visualised this as tables written on our desks.

We are continuing with our book “The Girl of Ink and Stars”. In the book the main character uses the stars and constellations to help her navigate and create maps.

We learnt to identify different constellations present in the sky and we then created models of them using spaghetti and marshmallows! The pupils love this activity!

We also worked together, using our curricular benchmarks and E’s and O’s to decide our next topic. It was decided we will be learning about…..The Second World War!
