Information for Our New P1 families (2023/2024)

Dear Parents and Carers

Transition to Primary 1 at Royston Primary School 2023

We are delighted that you have chosen Royston Primary School and are looking forward to welcoming you and your child to start school in August this year. In preparation for starting school we have arranged some visits and activities as detailed below.

Family visit

We would like to invite you and your child to come and visit the school for a family visit lasting around 20 minutes. You will meet your child’s teacher, have a brief tour of the school and be able to ask questions.

Please come to the main entrance through the front playground and ring the bell for the office.

Classroom visit and parents meet

You and your child are invited to visit the school on Thursday 18th May from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. You will be able to meet other parents and hear more information about starting school. We have invited some of our partners to come and share with you how they can help too. During this time the children will go and spend some time in class with their new teacher and other pupils already in school.

Sports Day

You are invited to bring your child to join our Sports Day on Wednesday 31st May at 10:00 AM. The children will be able to join in with a variety of activities along with our younger pupils. This will be on St Roch’s Secondary’s 4G Football Pitch.

Teddy bears picnic

We invite you to bring your child (and their favourite Teddy!) to our Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Wednesday 7th June from 1:30 to 2:45 PM. There will be games and a snack will be provided.

We look forward to meeting you and your child and welcoming you to the Royston family. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions.
