Responsible Citizens – Community Travel and 50 Things to do in the Outdoors

Half the class had the opportunity to go on their community travel outing this week. They combined their trip out with one of their 50 Things to do in the Outdoors. This activity was flying a kite. The group were Responsible Citizens when crossing the road and walking to the park. The wind was variable but everyone managed to get the kite into the air. One pupil (who will remain nameless) managed to crash it into Mr Nicoll’s head. I hope it was an accident!

Successful Learners – Healthy Eating

Some of the Transition class had their cookery time this week. They were Successful Learners when they chose a healthy way to prepare potatoes. They chose to make low fat potato salad. Skills on show were using the microwave, chopping spring onions and mixing ingredients together. As usual Mr Nicoll didn’t even get a tiny wee bit to taste. Good skills everyone.

Effective Contributors – Snowman Decoration

The Transition class were Effective Contributors when they helped make the class Snowman decoration. They chose to model it on the original snowman from the movie ‘The Snowman’. Crepe paper was used to make the nose look like an orange. Some pupils used paint to make cotton balls look like coal. A real group effort.

Children in Need 2021!

Effective Contributors

The Sunflower’s have loved taking part in lots of group Children in Need activities.  Each child helped build a giant Pudsey bear, listened to a Pudsey sensory story and took part in our bingo game.  Afterwards, we made Pudsey spots using playdough.  We also watched the Children in Need duck race and had a class race with our own ducks.  Everyone looked great in their pyjamas and Children in Need outfits.

Pudsey Fun in the Daisies Class!

* CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Daisies class all enjoyed coming into school in their pyjamas or casual clothes to celebrate Children in Need. We had Pudsey’s Fundraiser story and enjoyed some Pudsey themed dances.

We also worked up a sweat doing some of Joe Wicks and Pudsey’s 5 minute moves.
