The Transition class were Confident Individuals when choosing their feelings during different tasks. The class tried a mint sweet and shared how this made their mouths feel. Some pupils didn’t enjoy the mint and shared this with the rest of the class. Some pupils enjoyed the mint and shared their feeling with the class. some feelings were ‘wiggly’, ‘cold’ and ‘jaggy’.
After ward the class removed their socks and shoes and placed their feet onto the carpet. They all selected symbols to share how their feet felt with the rest of the class.
The Transition class worked hard on their ILP targets this week. Due to the Winter Olympics starting this week most tasks had a flavour of the Olympics. Tasks ranged from designing new curling tops, fine motor control over winter sport patterns, matching patterns and drawing winter sports by following coordinates.
The Transition class spent a nostalgic afternoon looking at photographs. They were Effective Contributors selecting pictures that show friendship and working together at this task. It was great to see photographs when everyone was much younger.
The Transition class spent an afternoon identifying their own skills then linking them to jobs. The class were Confident Individuals selecting then colouring balloons that contained their strengths. The pupils then thought about these skills and selected jobs that may be interesting or use their strengths.
Scones were the order of the week in the Transition class. The pupils were all Confident Individuals when following the recipe and using kitchen equipment. There were some fantastic fine motor skills on display, rubbing the butter into the flour. Some light tasty scones were the result of an afternoon of hard work.
It was Drake Music time again this week in Transition class. They were all Effective Contributors taking full part in all sections. We used our voices well and played along on chime bars at the end.
It was the start of Chinese New Year this week and the Transition class were Successful Learners when they made some dancing dragons. They cut out heads and tails and folded paper to make the flexible body. They assembled the dragon on lollipop sticks to make it into a puppet.
Throughout the week the Transition class were Successful Learners when studying their class book. This week was all about favourite characters and reasons why they were chosen. Quite a few pupils chose the baddie! They all picked words or symbols to explain their choices. At the end of the week when discussing Lord Asriel, the class started to make an airship similar to the one at the start of the book.
What a great start to the week in the Transition class. They were all Confident Individuals taking part in an excellent yoga session. The class copied Mrs Feeney at took on different poses. At the end there was time for relaxation and we left feeling ready to face the week.
