Willowbank School, KilmarnockIt was a happy/sad morning on Tuesday. Happy because it was our Drake Music session and sad because it was our last one. The class were Confident Individuals replaying their greatest hits and having a turn of the guitar. The class made a lovely card for the Drake Music tutor.
Drake Music was a great success again this week. The Transition class were Effective Contributors showing Ollie what they had been practicing when he had been off. Ollie was very impressed by ‘In the Jungle’ especially the very high parts in the chorus!
Live music was back in Transition class this week! The pupils were Confident Individuals when we had our first visit from Ollie. They showed their skills they’ve been practicing over video call and we had a class full of musicians, playing, singing and signing. A wonderful sound!
The Transition class took part in a Drake Music session. They were Confident Individuals and used their numeracy skills to follow the pattern on the screen, making sure to play their instrument at the correct time.
It was Drake Music time again this week in Transition class. They were all Effective Contributors taking full part in all sections. We used our voices well and played along on chime bars at the end.
The Transition class had their usual appointment with Drake Music and were Effective Contributors with the group work. We had our usual songs, silly noises and a play along with the chime bars. Very harmonious!
We were all confident individuals, successful learners and effective contributors when working together to perform ‘A Red Red Rose’ by Robert Burns.
We learned the signs for the poem and then also added music to it. The Oak class put on a special performance for Ollie at Drake music. He was extremely impressed by everyone. Well done Oak class.
We enjoyed our Scottish dancing, made mini Robert Burns shortbread and made Burns gift bags.
We had great fun this morning taken part in our virtual music lesson with Drake music. We were all successful learners whilst being effective contributors and working well together to make some music. We can’t wait until next week.
