Comets

World book day and more…

This week it was world book day and the comets did not disappoint! We had Willy Wonker, a police man, a Minecraft man, and not 1, but two spidermen! Comets found out why we do world book day and then we looked at books, picked one we liked and read it to each other. They then got to take the book home to share with their family.

we looked at LGBT history and all the reasons we celebrate LGBT. We then coloured in our own LGBT flags and LGBT themed pictures.

Using Fairtrade chocolate we made rice crispies and made a mess in the process. Comets cleaned up after themselves and enjoyed their wee treat after they made them. We looked at a video on how chocolate was made.

We did some numeracy and literacy games to make us more confident in these areas and we also did some numeracy and literacy hard work in relation to Fairtrade.

Some of the comets did some eco saving activities. We did some litter picking, turning off lights and recycling. The comets did great with this.

On Wednesday the comets were with Mrs McDonald and they made titanic posters…. They look amazing and our displayed in our classroom for everyone to see.

Well done comets for a great week and have a super weekend. See you Monday.

World Book Day

Yesterday was World Book Day we started the day exploring lots of books. We were confident individuals handling the books with care and turning the pages. We went on a book hunt in the garden to find more books and enjoyed exploring these when we got back to class. We made bookmarks by making marks with crayons and some of the pupils were effective contributors  collecting all the materials needed. The staff dressed up as characters from the Little Miss books so we did some Little Miss colouring and matching. We also enjoyed a lovely bookbug session exploring a new sensory book and we loved touching each page to feel the different textures.
