Responsible Citizens – Identifying Risks

It was risky business again this week in the Transition class! The class were Responsible Citizens when they discussed the risks in a park and a swimming pool. They identified the risks on the interactive board and marked it down on their worksheets.

Confident Individuals – 50 Things in the Outdoors, Mud Pies!

The Transition boys got mucky this week. Instead of working in the mud growing their vegetables the boys got stuck in making mud pies! They were Confident Individuals mixing the soil with the water and making their own shapes. Lots of scrubbing of hands ensued afterwards!

Literacy

This week we have been focusing on the letter “n”, doing lots of “n” activities. We had sensory fun with noodles on Wednesday afternoon feeling them in our hands and making lots of mess.

We also used our water tray outside filled it with warm water and used nets to catch the different coloured fish. We had lots of fun finding the colours asked.

Responsible Citizens – Upcycling the greenhouse in the garden.

The boys were  Responsible Citizens whilst upcycling the greenhouse using plastic from the RAF. They all contributed by unfolding the plastic laying it across the top of the greenhouse and helping cut  to size to fit before it was stapled down.

Successful Learners – Literacy Reading

The Transition boys were Successful Learners during their reading time this week. Some boys read to each other, some used technology to advance through their story and some read along with staff and answered questions. A lovely calm, hardworking time!

Outdoor Maths Trail – IDL

The Stars class were confident individuals and successful learners when we followed a maths trail in the garden. We followed instructions to collect and count items from the garden as well as identify and make shapes.

SCIENCE – BOUNCY EGG

We soaked boiled eggs in vinegar and found that the shell turned soft, We tentatively checked if it would bounce and it did……..a little!

Excellent Exercise!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The Planets class are missing our weekly PE sessions in the Gym Hall. We have been trying to include daily move and groove sessions in the classroom including runaround and team games.

Today we tried something different. We completed an aerobics exercise on Youtube. There were 10 levels including squats, sprints, donkey kicks, press ups etc. We had to work really hard!
