The Transition boys were Confident Individuals while participating in life skills. Activities included sorting and folding clothes, tying shoe laces and looking after their hair.

This week we used natural materials to create letters of our name and also letters we have been learning about in literacy sessions. We collected natural materials from the sensory garden and then were able to fill the outlines of each letter with these materials ripping them into smaller parts.

Some pupils were able to say what each of the letters were and give the action we have been learning.

Scented Snakes
This week the sunflowers class have been enjoying sensory play activities together. We enjoyed making scented play dough and used it to make a jungle snake.

Messy Play
During Messy play , we shared our jungle animals and played with them in foam, silly string, glitter and dough. We looked at all of the different colours and sizes of the animals and enjoyed moving them around the tray together. The animals made lovely footprints. We love to learn by being creative!

We worked very hard today exploring number and addition.
We were confident individuals using our pincer grip to add pegs to pumpkins, then counted how many we had together to make numbers up to ten.

The Beech class have been getting into the Hallowe’en spirit this week in the Beech class! Our hard work has been mostly Hallowe’en themed and on Thursday we had a day of messy sensory activities. In the morning we enjoyed making individual Hallowe’en snacks and in the afternoon we took part in some Hallowe’en experiments! We made ghosts shoot through the air, glow-in-the-dark water, and erupting ghosts! We were successful learners as we listened carefully to our instructions and took part in each activity.

The Moonbeams have been learning about Measure through their theme. The children were able to sign big, small, long and short. We looked at things we would find outside. The children were able to recognise, identify and order these from biggest to smallest. We then had some sensory fun looking for big and small objects in the sand and water beads.

When the Snowdrops heard that Peter Rabbit had lost his carrots in the school garden, we had to go and see if we could help him find them. We walked and moved round the garden looking in lots of different places for the carrots. We had excellent looking skills and pointed when we spotted them. The children were very happy to find the carrots and return them to Peter back in the classroom.
