Willowbank School, KilmarnockThe Stars Class had a week full of Easter activities. We made, and ate!, Easter egg shaped pizza’s, decorated eggs for rolling, created an Easter card and Jelly Bean Bunnies and made chocolate nests to send home. We met spring lambs and explored the different ways people celebrate Easter.
The Stars class enjoyed World Down’s Syndrome Day activities, especially our sock box. We also tackled the Big Pedal assault course with gusto! Music Therapy was great too! It was a fun week for all.
The Stars class did lots of LGBT activities this week. We read the book, ‘Together’, and discussed friendship. We explored different families and how to be a good friend then chose what activities we would most like to do with our friends. Parachute games was very popular! We created rainbow flags, a friendship poster and made rainbow cakes at HE. On Purple Friday we had a showcase of our learning in the hall where we showed a video of us singing, ‘I Love You’.
The Stars Class enjoyed Pudsey activities on Friday afternoon. We handled dotty water beads, made dotty Pudsey pictures and had Pudsey dotting all over the magic carpet! We even had tasty Pudsey decorated cakes and shortbread for snack. Earlier in the week we finished making ‘junk’ houses and recently we have enjoyed outings to B&Q, The Range and Hansel Village.
