Willowbank School, KilmarnockWe have been learning all about different kinds out houses that people might live in through our theme ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’.
We have spent time in the sensory garden looking at all the different kinds of houses we could see. We were successful learners and could point to different kinds of houses and could remember some of the name too!
We had lots of fun this month taking part in a green social snack to raise awareness for McMillan Cancer Support. We sat with all our friends in the infant corridor and enjoying trying lots of green snacks!
We have had so much fun celebrating Halloween this week! 
We have taken part in lots of activities, and enjoyed putting on our costumes for a parade on Friday.
The daisies have enjoyed looking at photos of our families, and have created our own family trees to show the members of our family.
We are so lucky at Willowbank School. This week we had special visitors visit our school. On Thursday Harris McCoo visited us in the morning. We all went to the hall to see him dance on the stage with Steven Brown and his friends. Miss Hill and some of the older pupils were at the front too as they had been learning the signs to his special song. We also joined in with some of the signs too.
Today Suzanne and Tracy “Singing Hands” came to Willowbank School. It was amazing. We did lots of singing, signing and dancing.
This week we have been very busy.
We have settled back into school and are beginning our new theme ‘Homes and Families’. We have explored the story ‘A Squash and A Squeeze’ and enjoyed making the different characters to create a display.
Everyone also worked hard in Music this week and used percussion instruments to make loud and soft, and slow and fast sounds. We self assessed our work using ‘happy’ and ‘sad’ faces.
The daisies have settled well into the new school year, and are enjoying getting to know their new classmates. 
This week we enjoyed making our own toast for snack time, and took part in a vote for our new pupil representatives from the upper school.
