Weekly Round-up
This week in P5/6 we have been learning about prefixes as part of our spelling. We have also been reading our book study ‘Holes’ and completed a visualisation and inference task. We were learning to use figurative language such as similes in our writing and created our very own Paint Box poems. In numeracy we were learning more about the value of the digits, including decimal fractions. We were also beginning to round numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. In Number Talks we were revising the ‘Adding up in chunks’ strategy. We have now split into 2 groupsWeekly Round Up

We have had another busy week in P6/7. This week we chose Kacey for our Catrine compliments. Esther was chosen as a Responsible Citizen for the Excellent Work Wall. Braxton’s writing was chosen for the Excellent Work wall this week. Look at his amazing use of descriptive language. We chose Ashton’s marvelous rounding work for the Excellent Work Wall as he gave accurate and well thought out answers to the questions. This was our Friday Fun Question this week. Welcome to the Primary 3 blog! As we begin a new school year, P3 have settled in beautifully to our new classroom and new routines. They are already working very hard revising and consolidating previous learning as they strive to become confident and independent learners. This week in Primary 4 we have been continuing to work on place value, rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and ‘Multiplication Masters’ in numeracy. We have been revising the ‘oa’ sound in spelling and have been continuing to work on accurately punctuating sentences in our writing. We have been learning to use the reading strategy ‘visualisation’ and created a visualisation of Mr and Mrs Twit.
