The transition boys were all Effective Contributors in cooking today. We ppicked Courgettes that had been grown in the school garden and used them to make a lovely pasta dish. The boys had also decided they would like to make nachos to go with this. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to get a final photo of the dish we made as it was gone within seconds.

Every morning in the Transition Class, we all watch Newsround to keep ourselves up to date with what’s happening around the world. The boys were Confident Individuals when picking a piece of news and creating a newspaper article about it. Topics included Frank the Ape’s 10th Birthday, the new Johnny English film and a new space-craft that will be going to space once its designed and built.
Sensory bottles and making a house
This week we made our own sensory bottles for our morning group. We chose six – sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy, snowy and a rainbow. We enjoyed ripping and tearing materials to put inside our bottles and then filled then with water. We have been enjoying using them at our morning group with our days of the week boxes.
Today we using images of different doors and windows to create our own 2D house and used “shreddies” and icing sugar as the cement to build our own house.
The Bluebells have been enjoying listening to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children were successful learners as they carried out their own porridge experiment. They made up 3 different kinds of porridge by adding a variety of ingredients and then tasted them to discover what ingredients made the porridge yummy.
Hazards in the Home
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS 8
This week, we have looked closely at dangers and hazards within a home. We looked at animations of dangers within the kitchen and then played an online game where we had to explore different rooms in a house and find all the hazards.
We loved doing this and have been pointing out hazards like plug sockets and fire warning signs within our classroom and school environment.
Stick Numbers
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *
The Moonbeams class enjoyed exploring the outdoors for a range of materials from our sensory garden. We gathered sticks, leaves, twigs, stones and pine cones. We were given the challenge of working together to form the numbers 0-10. We managed to complete this by working effectively in pairs and as a team.
Sensory Play
