Reading Stars!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *

The Moonbeams have tried really hard to include more reading time in our timetable this week. We have visited the school library, loved choosing stories to take home from the book swap and we have included 10minute reading sessions at the end of each day. We have read ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Catastrophe’, ‘Wonky Donkey’ and ‘The Mega Magic Hair Swap’.

FAOL- World Book Day

The Daisies were successful learners during World Book Day. We  participated in a book swap, and chose what books we would like.

We spent time in the sensory room and had great listening to different stories while relaxing in our pajamas and costumes.

We were confident individuals when taking part in our costume parade and enjoyed seeing everyone fantastic costumes and favourite books.

On Friday, we enjoyed a visit from author Greta Yorke who read ‘The Tartan Witch’. We were effective contributors and took part in lots of sensory activities linked to the story. The daisies especially enjoyed making a magic potion!!

World Book Day

World Book Day this week! The Oak boys were all confident individuals when choosing their reading book and reading it to an adult.  They completed a book review to share their opinion on their story.

Angus has been making great progress and coming to join his friends for quite a few activities this week.  He loves to sing ‘Shotgun’ and ‘Flower of Scotland’.

We also were successful learners working on telling the time in analogue and digital format.  The boys played a time game with a partner, ‘Roll and Tell the Time.’ The first person to complete a straight line had to shout ‘BINGO’.

Every class went to great efforts to dress up in their favourite character or come in their PJs for a bedtime story.

Our WINNERS for World Book Day!

This is the first time the whole Oak class have all sat together around the snack table! It has been a great week in the Oak class!

We read ‘The Lion Inside’ and then had fun creating a our Lion art work.

Eco

This week was our sensory eco assembly.

We played games made of recycled materials. The boys all loved playing them. We decorated our own class canvas bag. We are going to use this for our weekly outings. We made recycled art work. We used lots of pencil sharpenings to decorate our butterfly pictures. We also had to feel different materials and decide which bin we would put the item in.
